About Fortifier
Fortifier was founded in 2017 as a trading company for my various roles in project management and passive fire installation, as well as commercial building remediation. Over the years I have gained a wide experience in this through being self employed and working for companies involved in the delivery of large construction projects. Fortifier is about consolidating this understanding and experience into a resource for you to leverage in your project. Dedicated to tried and proven traditional values, such as honesty, straightforward communication, and good quality workmanship, I strive to make Fortifier a solid and trustworthy course of action.
Background
From managing my own farm as a young man to supervising large and specialist projects over the years, I have acted as foreman on extensive work sites managing teams with a broad range of skills. Among other things, I have been able to solve problems which original designers couldn't, diagnose complex control circuit issues in large machinery, set up automotive workshops to meet stringent standards, redesign safety systems for vehicle hoists, and build transport refrigeration units. In more recent years I have consolidated this experience into the passive fire industry, training as a professional fire stop technician focussing on the specification and installation of non-active fire safety systems. I have led a small dedicated team in a profusion of new and retro-fit passive fire projects ranging from hospitals to courtrooms and wind farms. Current New Zealand legislation calls for commercial building owners to bring their buildings in line with the NZ Building Code in relation to passive fire requirements. Facilitating this is my current focus.
